Flint Hill Church Gospel Choir will celebrate its tenth anniversary Sunday, November 5, 3 p.m.

The Beulah Volunteer Fire Department will have barbecued chicken plates for sale on Saturday, October 21, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Fire Station. Cost is $6 per plate.

Clifford Grove Baptist Church, Rayle, will not have a service on Sunday, October 22. Regular services will resume on Thursday, October 26, 7 p.m., and Sunday, October 29, 11:15 a.m.

The Church of Christ, Lexington Avenue, will have a produce giveaway Saturday, October 28, beginning at 11 a.m.

White Rock Baptist Church Gospel Choir, Lincolnton, will begin the fall revival services Sunday, October 22, 3 p.m., by celebrating its 47th anniversary. Revival services will begin Monday, October 23, and continue through Wednesday, October 25, 7:30 p.m. Rev. Steve Berry, pastor of the New Exodus Baptist Church, Hephzibah, will be guest minister.

The Church of the Mediator will have its annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, December 2.

New Saints CME Church, 515 Baltimore Rd., Washington, will hold this month's SNAP meeting Saturday, October 21, 1 p.m.

A.H. Stephens State Park will have a 75th anniversary event Saturday, October 28, at 11 a.m. The event will be at picnic shelter No. 2 behind the park office. A free wreath-making event will be led by Gladys Thaxton, RSVP volunteer. Participants will make a vine wreath for use from fall to Christmas and are asked to bring decorations for Halloween, harvest or Christmas. No experience is required.

The Optimist Club of Washington's annual Friend of Youth Auction and Barbecue will be held Thursday, November 9, at VFW Post 5899. Plates will be available beginning at 5 p.m. with the auction at 6:30 p.m.

Flu shots will be available at the Wilkes County Health Department on Gordon Street every Thursday from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m.

Passport regulations have changed. To travel by air, a person will need a passport before December 31, 2006; to travel by sea or land, by June 2009.

Christ City of Prayer Church in Washington will be having a women's conference October 26- 28, 7:30 p.m. The speakers will be Evangelists Penny Quinn of First Baptist Church, Lincolnton; Kimberly Dillard of Timothy Baptist in Athens; and Betsy Porter of Washington.

Pompey's Chapel Baptist Church will have family and friends day Sunday, November 5, 2:30 p.m. Pastor Darnell A. Brantley of the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church of Thomson will be the speaker.

Booker's Chapel Baptist Church Women of Virtue Ministry will host a conference entitled "Women of God! Are You Equipped for Action?" The conference will be held Friday, October 27, 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, October 28, 10 a.m., at the church.

The Wilkes County Board of Registrars will meet October 19, Room 323, Wilkes County Courthouse, at 10 a.m.

The Wilkes County Board of Health will meet Friday, October 20, 11 a.m., at the Wilkes County Health Center on Hospital Drive.

There will be a County Cooking Supper at Fishing Creek Baptist Church Saturday, October 21, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. All you can eat for $6.00 per plate. All proceeds go to charity.

The October meeting of the Civil War Round Table of Washington will be Monday, October 23, 6 p.m., in the Fitzpatrick Hotel Restaurant. The meeting is $10 per person and includes dinner. The Wilkes County Baptist Church Fall Festival will be held Saturday, October 21, 4-6 p.m. There will be food, games, and all are free to all.

The gospel singing group Safe Harbor will be in concert at the First Assembly of God in Lincolnton Sunday, October 22, 6 p.m. Safe Harbor is a quartet of talented young men with a dynamic four-part harmony. The annual Rotary Pancake Supper will be held Friday, October 20, at the Washington- Wilkes Elementary School Cafeteria. Time is 5:30-7:30 p.m., and tickets are available from Rotarians or at the door.

The annual I'd Rather Be In Tignall Fall Festival will be held on the old school grounds in Tignall on Saturday, November 4, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Transforming Life Ministries will sponsor the annual "Hallowed Be Thy Name" Youth Worship Service on Sunday, October 29, 4 p.m., at the Third Shiloh Center. Friends of the Mary Willis Library will meet Thursday, October 19, 3 p.m., in the conference room at the library. The program will feature the new library director, Lillie Crowe, and her staff.
