Griffiths to speak on Civil War Battle of Atlanta Monday night

GRIFFITHS
Kenneth A. Griffiths, Col. JAGC, U.S. Army, retired, of Atlanta is the October guest speaker for the Civil War Round Table of Washington being held Monday, October 23, in the Fitzpatrick Hotel Restaurant beginning at 6 p.m. with dinner for $10 per person. He will be speaking on the Battle of Atlanta in which his great-grandfather fought.

Two grand armies clashed in July, 1864, for the vital industrial and transportation center of the deep South, Atlanta. Although one side was outnumbered two-to-one, it was the fiercest of battles.

Griffiths has tracked the movements down to almost every regiment, both Confederate and Union, during this entire Battle of Atlanta, and is currently in the last stages of writing a book on this momentous battle

Griffiths is executive vice president and founding principal and broker for Meridian Property Group, Ltd., a full service commercial real estate firm in Atlanta since 1986. Previously he had held management positions with The Coca-Cola Company for eleven years.

He received a B.S. in Finance from the University of Florida, did post graduate work in corporate and labor law at The George Washington University and obtained his J.D. Degree in the College of Law at Florida State University.

During his distinguished military service he received the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, and National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star.

Membership in the Civil War Round Table of Washington is $15 for students, $25 for individuals and $35 for families (two or more). To join, simply attend the meeting on October 23 at the Fitzpatrick Hotel at 6 p.m.
