Pompey's Chapel Baptist Church will celebrate its 137th anniversary Sunday, May 27, 11:30 a.m. Dinner will be served. New Saints CME Church, 515 Baltimore Road, Washington, will hold this month's SNAP meeting Saturday, May 19, 10 a.m. Members and anyone who is interested in joining are encouraged to attend. .. The Greater Level Hill Baptist Church will have its 100 Men in Black of White program Sunday, May 27, at 4 p.m. Rev. Charles Lacey and the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church will be guests for the occasion. Dinner will be served at 3 p.m. .. Pleasant Grove Baptist Church will have its annual Women's Day Celebration Sunday, May 20, 3 p.m., with Rev. Dante Smith bringing the sermon. The fellowship dinner will be served between 1:45 and 2:45 p.m. Self-guided audio tours of Washington's historic Resthaven Cemetery are available at the Washington Historical Museum on East Robert Toombs Avenue. The price for the 30-minute tour is $5.00 per person with special group rates available. It is offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday- Saturday, and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. .. The Washington-Wilkes Parks and Recreation Summer Basketball Camp 2007 is accepting registration for boys and girls ages eight through 13 at the recreation Department. Deadline for signup is June 4. Camp schedules will be set up according to the child's age and this information will be given to the child on the first day of camp. There is no cost for instruction. There is a cost of $10 for the camp t-shirt. .. The M.W. Gresham Youth Chorale will have rehearsal Saturday, May 19, 1 p.m., at the Reeves Chapel Baptist Church. .. The Wilkes County EMS will be conducting an EMT class beginning June 12 and running through February 2, 2008. Classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6 to 10 p.m. with an occasional Saturday class. Interested persons should call Blake or Teresa at 706-678- 7837 for more details. The Springfield Baptist Church Relay for Life Team will have a youth day event at the Booker Center Playground on Whitehall St., Saturday, May 26, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Spaghetti plates will be available for $6.00. The Wilkes County Cattlemen's Association will have a Cowboy Cook-off and Beef Expo on The Square in Downtown Washington Saturday, June 2, beginning at 2 p.m. Judging will be at 4 p.m. First prize will be awarded $100; second, $75; and third, $50.
