Hospital should have enough to make repairs without help
TO THE EDITOR:

I want to commend the members of our Board of Commissioners for their decision on the hospital issue.

I regret I was unable to attend the last meeting. My husband has been critically ill and was dismissed from a hospital that very day.

As I stated in the first meeting, we do not need a new hospital. We are in need of repairs including plumbing and others perhaps.

I well remember when the hospital was started in 1924. The doctors of Wilkes County and many others worked so hard to get it. The late Dr. L.R. Casteel made the dedication speech. The building was a twostory brick residence which was used until 1961 - now, a different building but the same institution.

The hospital should have enough funds to make these repairs. If they don't, then we need a new administration.

The hospital board is inclined to get involved with too many outside people. A few years ago they did so, until a group of people including me got the attention of the people and we got rid of them.

Now you are "feathering the nest" of MCG. I don't trust them either. In my opinion you should take those 15 rooms devoted to them and restore the maternity ward.

I'm sure rocks will be thrown at me by those who want to spend millions of tax money, but I will survive.
