Carol Wayne Hardy

Funeral services for Carol Wayne Hardy, 68, of Washington were held Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at the Phillips Mill Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Jacobs and Rev. Robert Rayner officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. He died September 24.

Mr. Hardy was a lifelong resident of Wilkes County and was the son of the late Cecil Emmett Hardy and Elizabeth Combs Hardy. He had served in the National Guard and had retired from the Federal Paper Company. He was a member of Phillips Mill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Thornton Hardy of Washington; a son, Everett Hardy, Rayle; a daughter, Carolyn Hardy, Washington; a grandson, Alan Hardy, Washington; three brothers, Cecil Hardy, Stockbridge, Dan Hardy, Greensboro, and Pete Hardy, Lincolnton; and a sister, Frances Ogletree, Washington.

Pallbearers included Ben Hardy, Randy Ogletree, Ray Hardy, Kenny Poss, Gary Hardy, Mike Bryant, Charlie Burgess, Rickie Fanning, Tucker Hardy, Michael Hardy, Benjamin McAvoy, Pete Poss, and Daryl Hardy.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
