Rayle Ramble set for October 27 to bring kids' fun area, great music, and lots of food

A large children's fun area and a salute to veterans will be part of the annual Rayle Ramble Fall Festival next Saturday, October 27.

"We're going to have tons of things for kids in our large children's area, plus coupons for airbrushed 'tattoos' will be passed out to middle and high school students this week," said organizer Jason Echols. Children's rides will be provided by Bounce & Pounce of Union Point.

The Ramble will be held at the Rayle City Hall, which is located on Highway 78 between Lexington and Washington.

"The Ramble will kick off at 10 a.m. with a salute to our veterans," Echols said. "Any veterans who come for the opening ceremonies will be appreciated."

The Ramble will also feature musical performers, including CMA/Dove-award-winning, and Grammy-nominated recording artist Terri Gibbs in concert, he said. "Terri will perform songs from her country albums as well as her contemporary Gospel albums, and offer merchandise for sale and an autograph session."

Billy Walker will be displaying his antique farm implements at the Ramble. "If you missed Billy's open house last week, here's your chance," Echols said.

There are a record number of vendors confirmed, selling food, crafts, clothing, and jewelry, he said.

The cooks of Rayle will be offering their wares at the Country Store. "There will be baked goods, homemade canned goods and more," Echols said. "And vendors will be offering funnel cakes, hot wings and things like that."

The Rayle volunteer firedepartment will be preparing their famous BBQ chicken plates, hamburgers and hotdogs. BBQ tickets will be available for sale and may be reserved by calling 706-274-3350.

The ever-popular marathon Bingo game will get underway at 1 p.m. with prizes provided by Wilkes County merchants.

The Ramble will be held at the Rayle City Hall, which is located on Highway 78 between Lexington and Washington. For more information call Jason Echols at 706-274-3350.
