Sharp curve catches another truck

Smokin' Joe Hurst of Lincolnton said his load of pine trees wasn't large, but it shifted Thursday afternoon as he turned the wicked corner from the Athens Highway coming onto Highway 17 just below the TPS truck stop, and that was enough to overturn the Peterbilt he drives for a local trucking company. He was not injured in the wreck, and the truck did not hit any other vehicles. Traffic was detoured for some two hours as heavy equipment was brought in to deal with the truck and its load.
