Healthy eating makes healthy living
Glenda Dunn, a certified nursing assistant for Northeast Georgia Cancer Care in Athens, was the guest speaker for the Washington Kiwanis Club on Tuesday, January 29. Dunn's program was titled "Healthy Eating for Healthy Living" during which she stressed the importance of frequently eating a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, getting sufficientfiber from whole grain food products, and exercising in order to maintain a healthy and active life style. She told members fruits chosen should have bright skin colors and that we should avoid products with significantlevels of processed sugars. She said that eating organically grown fruits and vegetables was the best and she also reminded members that when they deviate from this advice, it should be in moderation. Kiwanis President Bes Moore (right), was the program host for the day.
