Grace Adair Hendry

Graveside services for Grace Adair Hendry, 93, of Washington were held Thursday, January 24, 2008, at Resthaven Cemetery, Washington. She died Monday, January 21, in Washington.

Miss Hendry was born in Augusta. She was the daughter of the late James Hart Hendry and Georgia M. Jackson Hendry. She retired from the Atlanta Gas Light Company in 1979 after 45 years of service. She was a member of the Washington First United Methodist Church. Her life was devoted to her family and friends.

Survivors include a sister, Virginia H. Rountree of Riverdale; nieces, Dicye L. (Bootsie) Averette, Sally H. Bufford, Jean L. Coward, Debbie H. Engen, Mildred L. Hackney, Linda L. Hopkins, and Pamela D. Rountree; and nephews, James H. Hendry III, Cicero Lucas II, and Michael E. Rountree.

Great-nephews served as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the Washington First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 518, Washington 30673.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
