Unnoticed miracles
Years ago when I was a child, a lady prayed for our sick cat and the next day the cat was fine. I'll never forget that. Now, one fellow said that when he was just a lad his dog got sick and a man prayed for the dog and the dog died -- not because the man prayed. The boy asked the man why God didn't heal his dog and the man said, "Well, you didn't have enough faith." So that's how we write it off. That's not always the case. Most of these mysteries we just can't explain. Yet we don't throw the baby out with the bath water. We still know that it all lies in God's hands -- no matter what the case. God heals migraine headaches. My aunt was plagued with them and one day she actually went into her closet and knelt down and prayed. The Bible speaks of going into your closet. Of course most folks closets are so full of junk that they can't get in them. Anyway, my aunt promised the Lord that she would quit doing something that they knew was wrong and right then God healed her of the migraine headaches. Sometimes the problem is not lack of faith but it's because of sinful things in our lives. Now, I do this in humor if someone asks us to pray for their headache. I say, "Take two aspirins, read the 23rd Psalm, and call me in the morning." You know the joke. Anyway, small miracles do go unnoticed. My wife went to the doctor and they almost never check a person's iron level unless there is a reason, yet I believe by divine providence this doctor checked my wife's. Her iron was deadly high and the thing is that it is hereditary. She was tested later and they discovered that she's got one or two bad genes. I joked, Yea, I do too! Three or four pair that have holes in them." The amazing thing is this. By finding this they saved her life because with iron levels that high, within few years she could die from it because it destroys your liver and pancreas.
Small miracles that go unnoticed are miracles nonetheless. Can you say amen?
