Help available for gas consumers to understand natural gas bills

The University of Georgia, Georgia Public Service Commission, Atlanta Gas Light, Consumers' Utility Counsel and the Natural Gas Marketers are sponsoring a time for people to drop by for help with understanding their natural gas bills.

Leigh Anne Aaron, a natural gas educator and extension agent with the Wilkes County Extension, will be available from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, at the Washington-Wilkes Elementary School's Resource Room.

Among the topics to be discussed are understanding the gas bill, how to work with the gas marketer, taking advantage of rate options, knowing your rights as a natural gas user, conserving energy and finding assistance to help with a bill.

People do not need an appointment to attend. Anyone who cannot attend may fax their natural gas bill to 706-678-4869 and Aaron will call after she reviews the bill. For more information, call 706-678-2332.
