Nathan and Grier were dedicated during the parent-child dedication service at the First Baptist Church. Attending the dedication and the luncheon following at the Burton home with the weekend guests were Jane and Jim Burton, Sandy and Lawrence Burton and Fran Kish. lVisiting Marjorie Tyler last Saturday were granddaughter, Natalie Tyler of Charleston, S.C., and friend, Mike Fernandez of Savannah. lSparky and Mary Newsome, Elizabeth, Daniel and Molly, joined Faye Maloney of Doraville and a host of family members in celebrating Mother's Day Sunday. lSusan and Edward Pope were in Athens Thursday night to visit John, Katherine, Anna and Caroline Gentry, and to attend Anna's Oconee County Elementary School musical play at the Oconee County Civic Center. The Popes enjoyed the Mother's Day weekend in Maryville, Tenn., with Jenny and Craig Thomas. lMother's Day weekend guests of Jerry Stover were Sarah and Matt Gaither and daughter, Ella, of Canton. lChris and Tara Townsend, Garston and Henry, celebrated Mother's Day at an evening dinner with Ronnie and Sandy Townsend of Atlanta at DePalma's in Athens. lMother's Day dinner guests of Ricky and Penny Callaway were Rick and Sheila Callaway, Alaina and Trace, Cary and Lindsey Callaway and Jason Callaway. lRick Newsome of Springfield, Va., visited several days during the Mother's Day holiday with his mother, Jenelle Newsome. lLarry Tyler of Dunwoody visited Saturday and Sunday with his mother, Marjorie Tyler, and joined her for worship services at the First United Methodist Church. They also visited Gertrude Tyler and her children, Doug, Juanita, Blaine and Russell Tyler of Norcross. lMother's Day weekend guests of Bobbie Sue and Lloyd Johnson III were Lloyd Johnson IV of Japan, Robert Johnson of Statesboro, and Patricia Johnson of Augusta. The weekend also celebrated Robert's graduation from Georgia Southern University in Statetsboro where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Others attending graduation were his aunt, Mary Shuman of Hoboken, and uncle, Fred Oglesby of Blackshear.
