Tournament Saturday will feature 4 teams in adult basketball action Four adult basketball teams will get together this weekend for a double elimination tournament sponsored by the Washington-Wilkes Parks and Recreation Department. The tournament will be held at the W-WPRD gymnasium beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 24, and continue all day until the championship trophy is awarded. The public is invited to attend and enjoy the games at no charge. Concessions will be available. The four teams of players 18 years old and older have already been formed but there may still be some flexibility for participation. There is a $5.00 per player fee and players may play on only one roster. As of this issue date, the Black team will be coached by Debargia Cofer, the Grey team will be coached by Johnny Marshall, the Red team will be coached by Lazarus Chennault, and the White team will be coached by Mitchell Tutt. Tournament rules and player conduct rules are as follows: Profane language will not be tolerated. Any player ejected from a game must leave the gym without delay. Any player involved in a fight for any cause will be automatically suspended from the gym. There will be no grace period on game time. Only fiveminutes to warm up before the next game. A team without fiveplayers must forfeit the game. The tournament supervisor is responsible for the officialtime. A $5.00 fee is required of all players. There will be no refund of monies. All players must have a matching shirt. Numbers will be very helpful. Length of games: two 20-minute halves will be played. The clock will run the entire time, except for the last two minutes in each half during which time the clock will stop on the officialwhistle. All players must be 18 years of age as of May 24, 2008.
Games cannot be protested.
