Tells of facts concerning Vietnam

Karl Luken (right), a retired U.S. Army Warrant Officer,was the guest speaker at the Washington Kiwanis Club on Tuesday, May 27. Luken, who served in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot, presented a program of "Facts and Myths of the Vietnam War" based on information provided by Major General David R. Bockel USA (Retired), Director of Army Affairs of the Reserve Officer's Association. Luken presented a number of statistics in various categories regarding the officialservice period - August 5, 1964, to May 7, 1975. He said that the American military was not defeated in Vietnam and did not lose a battle of any consequence but that the South Vietnamese military did. Jim Griggs was the program host for the day.
