Deiante L. Walton

Funeral services for Deiante L. Walton, 34, were held Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Springfield Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis J. Quinn officiating. The interment was in the City West Cemetery. He died Friday, May 16, as a result of an automobile accident.

Mr. Walton was a native of Wilkes County and was the son of the late Hattie Marie Walton and the late Roosevelt Cobb. Early in his youth he united with Springfield Baptist Church, Washington. He was very active in his community, protecting all of the neighborhood children. He was blessed with a kind heart, great smile, and love of family and will be missed tremendously.

Survivors include four sons, Dante Q. Turner, Dionysius L. White, Deiante L. McBride, and Bernard M. Barnett; four brothers, TyfilE. Walton, Joirorion C. Walton, Vonta R. Cobb, and Roosevelt D. Cobb; three sisters, Roxanne L. Cobb, Lakia Cullars, and Rhonda L. Cobb.

Pallbearers included Jontue Cofer, Mark Coleman, Tico Gresham, Meiko Mays, Wayne Miller, and Rushon Wilson.

Davenport-McLendon Mortuary Inc. of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
