Qualifying dates set June 23-27 for local nonpartisan candidates

Qualifying has been set for the nonpartisan officeson the ballot for the November election.

Wilkes County Supervisor of Elections Judge Jim Burton has announced that the period for qualifying begins 9:00 a.m. Monday, June 23, and runs through noon Friday, June 27.

These nonpartisan candidates will not appear on the July 15 primary ballot, but will be on the ballot for the November 4 General Election.

Officesfor which candidates may qualify include: Judge of Probate Court (Jim Burton, incumbent); Chief Magistrate Judge (Rosa Lee Martin, incumbent); Chairman of Wilkes Board of Education (Ricky Callaway, incumbent); District 3 BOE (Kelly Powell, incumbent); and District 4 BOE (Steve Albertson, incumbent.)

Qualifying will be held in the Officeof the Probate Judge, Room 422 of the Wilkes County Courthouse.
