Kimberly J. Rainey announces candidacy for Probate Judge
"I feel that I am the best candidate for Probate Judge," she said, "because of my skills and experience working with children and families over the last 20 years. I know and understand how to interpret and apply federal, state, and local laws based on my current job as training and technical assistance specialist for the federal Head Start program." In that position, Rainey trains and provides technical assistance to Head Start programs throughout the southeast. She has worked with Wilkes County DFCS, the A-STAR after-school program, and Washington Wilkes Parks and Recreation. Rainey, a resident of Wilkes County since 1994, is a University of Georgia graduate and is married to Grant Rainey Jr., and is the mother of Grant III and Kendall Elise. "Although I'm not a native of Wilkes County, I choose to live and raise my children in this wonderful community," she said. An active member of Faith Christian Center, she is a Sunday School teacher and volunteer at Emmanuel Christian Academy.
Rainey says that her goals as Probate Court Judge would be to ensure that all business in the Probate Officeis administered effectively and efficiently; to ensure that all citizens of Wilkes County are treated fairly; to handle all judicial matters with integrity and in a professional manner; and to be accessible to the citizens of Wilkes County.
