Pole Branch Missionary Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School June 16-20, 6 p.m. Youth Day will be June 22, 11:15 a.m., with Brandon Jones from Elberton as the speaker.

New Springhill Baptist Church, Philomath, will have its "Tailgate for Church--June Celebration" on Saturday, June 21, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Attorney John Clark will be the speaker. The church is located at 2491 Crawfordville Road, Philomath.

The Lions Club has rescheduled the Sunday Dinner that was cancelled last month. The dinner will be held on Sunday, June 22, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dinner can be eaten in the Lions Club building or take-outs will be available. Tickets purchased for the cancelled dinner may be used, and tickets are available at the door or in advance from any Lions Club member.

Member churches of the Wilkes County Sunday School Union are reminded to begin preparation for the Quarterly Bible Bowl to be conducted Saturday afternoon, June 28, at New Ford Baptist Church.

Newtown Baptist Church will have homecoming on Sunday, August 3, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Andy Perryman, Georgia Baptist Association Missionary, as the speaker. Revival services will be held August 4-6, 7 p.m. each evening with Rev. Jim Newsome, pastor of Sardis Baptist Church, as the speaker.

The New World Generation Youth Choir of Hendersonville, Tennessee, First United Methodist Church will present "Never the Same" on Thursday, June 19, at the Washington First United Methodist Church, 102 West Liberty Street. The music-drama deals with the important subject of youth suicide from a Christian perspective. Youth groups, parents, and all young people are especially encouraged to attend. The annual Fourth of July parade will begin at Fort Washington Park (behind the Courthouse) at 8 a.m. The parade is for walkers, bicycle and tri-cycle riders, strollers, dogs (on leashes), and anything else that is not motorized. The parade route is short and will end in the park with the reading of a portion of the Declaration of Independence and the singing of the National Anthem.
