Washington Woman's Club presents scholarship to Charles W. Wittschen
The scholarship was established in the spring of 1991 from a fund given by Mrs. Mary Nettles in memory of her mother, Mrs. Sarah Dillard. The $1000 gift scholarship is awarded annually to a person who wants to continue his/her education after an interruption due to marriage, work, or other valid reason. The scholarship is administered through and selected by a committee representing the Washington Woman's Club. Scholarship funds must be spent on direct school ex- penses such as tuition, books, fees, etc., and not on personal items. The club is to be kept informed of the student's progress in his/her work. Wittschen lives on LaPrade Street in Washington. He is a graduate of Hephzibah High School and has been employed at Mid-Georgia XRay & Supply Inc. in Macon. His plans are to attend Augusta Technical College in Thomson to gain employment in a computer oriented industry.
The recipient's wife Carol is employed at St. Joseph's Hospital in Greensboro.
