Howard receives award for ACCG training in Sav.

JOHN HOWARD
Wilkes County Commissioner John Howard was awarded a "Certificate of Recognition" at the Association County Commissioners of Georgia's (ACCG) annual meeting in Savannah for completing the nationally recognized County Commissioners Training Program.

The award was presented by Dr. Steve Wrigley, Director of the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia.

To receive recognition, officials must complete 48 hours of instruction. The training program enhances local governments' ability to provide public services responsibly, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

"We are proud of all the graduates of the training program because each of them is exceptionally dedicated to providing the best local leadership possible for their communities," ACCG Executive Director Jerry Griffin said.

The program is co-sponsored by the ACCG and The University of Georgia's Carl Vinson Institute of Government.
