Kearney is certified to continue with basketball career at Tampa

Ashley Kearney was a mainstay on the court for the W-W Lady Tigers.
Former Tiger standout Ashley C. Kearney has been notified of her certification to play NCAA Division I and Division II women's basketball based on her athletic potential and her 4.0 GPA at Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School.

Kearney was a four-year starting guard for the W-W Lady Tigers varsity basketball team, president of the Class of 2008, and a member of the National Honor Society. During her high school years, "she has pushed to her full potential," according to her mother who expressed her thanks to coaches Becky Wilson and Jackson Calhoun for acknowleging her talents.

Kearney plans to attend the University of Tampa and continue her career in women's basketball.
